Valentine's Weekend 10th - 11th February 2018

Valentines Weekend Exhibiion  in the church 10th  - 11th February

We have just dismantled our annual exhibition which happens around February the 14th. this was organised by the Clippesby Church Fund-raising Team of Sara, Jane & Rachael who had done a superb eye-catching display interspersed with floral arrangements. The Norfolk firm of McCarthys

was featured together with a series of famous Norfolk people.

There was Elizabeth Fry, Edith Cavell, Anna Sewell, Harriet Martineau, Mother Julian, Princess Diana, Delia Smith and two lifeboatmen, Cromer's Henry Blogg & Caister's Jimmy Haylett. Various friends had helped to research and put the profiles together. This theme could easily expand to include so many more famous Norfolk characters.

Sunday morning began with a bit of excitement as we welcomed Radio Norfolk's Treasure Quest searching for their second clue of the day which they found amongst the Caister Lifeboat memorabilia the mention of our event on local radio brought in visitors to have a look at what was going on and enjoy a hot drink and homemade cakes, also a good old mardle. We were pleased with the day, we like putting on these weekends - our next one is in October - to encourage appreciation of our very beautiful and historic little church and in an attempt to foster or rekindle a community spirit in our village of Clippesby.
